California Here We Come!

I was sitting in my room with Che watching Season 1 of one of the greatest (in my opinion) "soap opera-y" shows ever and I noticed that Julie Cooper and Che look a lot alike. I also though about how when the show used to be on the air (pre-marisa dying) and how much I really enjoyed watching it. How much of a crush I had on Seth Cohen. Also I really am starting to appreciate how attractive Ryan is. Also no offense but Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson cannot act.

I miss the show. I guess all good things must come to an end.

NO!!, I am not listening to The Sounds.

Saw the new Brad Pitt movie. DIGGED IT. I didn't know what to feel in the end so I just sorta jumbled the feelings all together. It was fun...really.

Go see it!

HANG ON. REAL POST COMING IN LIKE 20 MINUTES.

Damn your mood swings.

Third period. I'm in the library which was aka'd this year as the "Media Center". I'm sick of the school trying to be hip and cool. It's not working.

Cafeteria= UBU (You Be You) Loungue

Mrs. V walked in and the thing with Mrs. V and I is that we have a love-hate relationship but its mostly just a hate kinda thing. And I haven't seen her in like 3 weeks and she just sat at my table and we made small talk and she told me this story about how my brother yesterday in her class raised his hand and said: "My sister says hi...and that she hates you." and everyone laughed. Mrs. V said "I know." I don't recall asking Andy to tell Viebs that but okay.

My right cheek is still really swollen and I wish I could just wear a sign that says "Wisdom teeth, not weight gain."

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

I'm not exactly sure what your name is. You're a TA in my first period class and everytime I walk into class you stare at me like I'm something interesting to look at. You make me feel uncomfortable and laugh at the same time. WHAT IS YOUR NAME? I will know one day.

Did you know? That if two pieces of metal touch in space, they become permanently stuck together.

AWESOME? CHECK.

livejournal is blocked at the school

In about 5 hours I'll be under going wisdom teeth removal surgery (?). I'm surprisingly not scared at all. It will probably hit me like a ton of bricks on the way there though. They better knock me out!!!!!!!!111111111oneoneeleven!!111 aaand I don't wanna miss a thaaaaang.

Mr. Millar assigned us a "How To" project and we have to present it to the class and it has to be atleast 15 minutes long. I can't think of anything that takes me 15 minutes to do that isn't showering or sleeping. I don't cook...I bake everyday though......ooooooooh yeah, I said it.

Cynthia, I have your damn mix cd.

What just happend?

school nurses

I went to the school nurse last Monday and had a very pleasant experience. The nurse at MHS is SO NICE. She's so nice that I don't feel like I deserve her nice-ness. Does that make sense? Probably not.

I remember in Middle School the nurse was a totally beyotch. She would be the meanest person in the world but then when she got on the phone with your mom she'd be all "OMG HI SMILEY FACE". If you were bleeding she'd give you ice.

The school nurse at my elementary would drown the nurses office in her perfume. It made me sneeze alot and she wasn't really pleasant. Infact, I think she made my brother cry once.

right now i'm loading firewood in my fireplace and i feel like a lumber jack

This time of the year (Late November-Late December) is my favorite time of the year. It's because of Thanksgiving but more importantly Christmas. I think it's pretty safe to say that Christmas is my favorite holiday. What's not to love? The amazing movies on tv (who doesn't want to watch Home Alone 2 a billion times in a row?)... the way products such a Coca-Coca decorate their labels- Santa and a couple of polar bears just chillin' in the North Pole, delievering your presents and shit. Drinking the delicious (not to me) beverage. All the Christmas music. I recently purchased the A Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack and I feel like a little kid again. I also love the snow and the fact that we don't have school/work. But above all I enjoy the company of friends and family around this time. This is not to say that I don't enjoy their company the other 10 months of the year, I'm just saying I'm alot jolly-er.

My Novemeber- Late December playlist:
1. "That Was The Worst Christmas Ever"- Sufjan Stevens
2. "The Hat"- Ingrid Michaelson
3. "Wrapped Up In Books"- Belle & Sebastian
4. "White Winter Hymnal"- Fleet Foxes
5. "Breathe In"- Frou Frou
6. "Different Names For The Same Thing"- Death Cab For Cutie
7. "Avalanche oh Avalanche"- Gregory and the Hawk
8. "Mama Don't You Think I Know"- His Name Is Alive
9. "Bricks"- Jenny Owen Youngs
10. "Montreal"- Kaki King
11. "Ocean Breathes Salty"- Modest Mouse
12. "Up Against The Wall"- Peter Bjorn & John
13. "One By One All Day"- The Shins
14. "Dark Come Soon"- Tegan and Sara
15. "Kid Gloves"- Voxtrot
16. "The Archaeologist"- Wintersleep

(if you want me to burn/upload the zip this for you let me know)

After New Years, the rest of the year is just sort of gloomy. The next holiday I have to look forward to is effing Valentine's Day for godsake.

Possible Halloween custom?

Who's down?

I shouldn't go but I can't really help it. When I feel this pressure.

I saw As Tall As Lions last night @ SUNY Purchase. FO FREE. Got on stage with them and Annie and Justin and helped them sing "Love, Love, Love (Love, Love)".

This morning I had to wake up super early because I had the ACT's. I don't want to talk about it.

Then an hour later I had work. I worked 7 and a half hours today. That's like staying after for the Italian/Book/French club, then having Mrs. V-Brock harrass me or something for 30 minutes.

I want to see Kaki King in December.

Things I'm into at the moment:
"Moonlight Sonata"- Ludwig van Beethoven
"Young Folks (cover)"- The Kooks
The Ghost World soundtrack.
Dreaming Of Revenge - Kaki King
sleeping
red grapes

Da end.

my next big purchase:

Nikon D40...

unless you have a better suggestion, Jordan?

The reason why I want a bitchin' digi camera is because some very important events are comming up in the next few months.

October 5th: Tegan and Sara at Terminal 5
October 6th: Death Cab For Cutie at Radio City Music Hall

also, the entire month of October- I'm hoping to do some fun Halloween-y things.

PLUS+ I don't even own a digital camera. I use my moms and it's like 5 years old and totally crapped out on me last week when I saw Paramore.

I'm also looking for new hobbies.

So, as we may or may not know...

Marisa Bohlman isnt exactly a fan of Tegan and Sara (to put it nicely). So Natalie and I had this genius plan to trick ol' Marisa. Natalie printed out a picture of 90's Tegan back when she had short hair. This is basically how it went:

Me: Oh, my God, Natalie do you have that picture of that really hot guy?
Natalie: Oh, my God yes I do!
Me: Marisa, on a scale of 1-10....how hot is this guy?
Marisa: raaarwfaosu deff an 8!
Natalie: If you had the chance to right now, would you tap that?
Marisa: Definfiently, I'd tap anything now!
Me; Ty, have a nice day.

She figured it out in the end though but it's still a fun story to tell.

HONK IF YOU LOVE PUSSY....CATS

You guys, yesterday was the start of Shark Week and I haven't been taking advantage of it AT ALL. Today I went to Barnes and Noble and bought The Jungle by Upton Sinclair and Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde, ate a rediculously disgusting amount of junk food and watched one of my favorite movies, "Josie and The Pussycats" with Natalie and Kendra. We decided that I was Josie, Kendra was Valerie and Natalie was Melanie. Oh, also yesterday I saw MGMT at McCarren Park and let me tell you....they were fucking insanely outstanding.

a sad quote from Josie and The Pussycats:

"Heath Ledger is the new Matt Damon!"

:(

Tuesday, July 22, 2008

I saw The Dark Knight yesterday and let me just say... I approve. Everytime The Joker came on screen I would pay close attention to everything he was saying. Batman was fierce as usual. Speaking of Halloween, I kind of want to be The Joker for Halloween but not really. Does THAT MAKE SENSE?

On an unrelated note, I really wish it was Fall/Winter. I want to wear scarves and jackets and hats again.

Also, I don't know if you know this but I'm seeing Tegan and Sara October 5th and I had this thought that we're going to be in starting school before seeing them. October 5th feels closer than the first day of school.

pretty cool band I just discovered:

WHAT R I DOING?

Watching this like a mad-girl.

Hello, what can I dooooo for yooooou?

Yesterday, I went to Smalley's Restaurant in Carmel with Cyndi, Jordan, and Dominick. Now, for the million of readers out there who do not know what Smalley's is it's a haunted restaurant haunted by kind spirits from World War II in like the 1880's fought against the South and the Germans. We heard some ghost stories from the owner then left and went to Jodan's house and played with a homemade Quija board. We contacted a spirit named Gary who whenever we asked him about Cynthia he would said "heh". Gary liked me second best. After about an hour of shenanigans with Gary he got bored with us and everything we asked him became "IRRELEVANT".

Ode to Augusten Burroughs

You've made me laugh, you've made me cry, you've made think. I have so much respect and gratitude towards you. You are my hero. Also the tiny fact that one of my favorite musicians, Tegan Quin, wrote a song about you/your book A Wolf At The Table makes me love you that much more.

Monday, June 30, 2008

Hey, you!

Hey guys!

Today I woke up with hardcore upperback, neck and jaw pain. It's on a count of yesterday I played chicken in the pool and I was a person that had someone on their shoulders. Now I'm sitting on this computer and I feel paralyzed and old. I read a little. Looked up guitars/prices. Then drove my brother to football practice.

Then I think I'm going to the gym with Sindesto and possibly seeing a movie. I really want to see The Wackness.

SEE YA LATER.

Netflix, Sweety, why do you take so long to come to my house?

Yesterday, I watched Jesus Camp. It scared the liberal shit out of me (good facebook group). It was a documentary on Evangelic Christians. The movie revolved mainly around these 2 children, Levi and Rachel both under the age of 12. They show shots of the children at their church and them being saved and preaching to God. All the while, they are hysterical, in tears and speaking in tongues. It's horrifying and something you need to see for yourself. One thing that sticks to my mind in particular is Levi's mom, who homeschools her two sons, teaching Levi that Global Warming isnt real. A quote that shocked me (taken from imdb.com):

Levi's Mom: Did you get to the part yet where they say that science hasn't proven anything?

Wait, but isnt science based entirely on fact? This movie made me appreciate my liberal lifestyle and views. And form a love and appreciation for biology... which I've never had before.

Infinite.

Last Thursday, I was given an assignment from friend and fellow blogger-whatsnewcyndistew to write about what makes me feel "infinite". I describe "infinite" as something close to euphoria. When your heart aches and smiles at the same time. Music is something that trigers the "infinite" feeling.

Songs:
Pretty much any instrumental intro/breaks in any Death Cab For Cutie song.
"Dear Prudence"- The Beatles
"We're So Beyond This"- The Reason
"In The Round"- The Cardigans
"I Feel It All"- Feist
"June"- Cocoon
"The State I Am In"- Belle & Sebastian
"Dark Come Soon"- Tegan and Sara
"Memories Of Places We've Never Been"- Faunts
"Kings Crossing"- Elliott Smith
"Ordinary Life"- Kristen Barry

Happy Father's Day!

I'm tired but I really don't like sleeping. For me sleeping is a waste of time and if I didn't have to sleep (meaning if I didn't get tired), I wouldn't sleep. I'd rather take a walk by myself or watch a movie, read a book too.

Today I came home from school and the first thing I saw was Maxene and Che (both cats) dancing around in my kitchen chasing a chipmunk! I wasn't scared though, infact it made me giggle a little. They didn't even look like they wanted to hurt the chipmunk they looked like they were just playing with it....

But cats are meanies. I knew what they were thinking. I got rid of those two thugs and lurred the chipmunk outside to safety.

How did the chipmunk get in the house in the first place? The cats managed to open the screen door and probably chased to poor thing in the house.

Cruel.

Open Mic Nite has been canceled. There is no reason to live!

Monday, June 9, 2008

Theres something about The Postal Service that

whenever I listen to them I feel nostalgic, but I don't know what for.

Ever since I got Netflix (yesterday) my life has been a little more anxious. I come home and hope for that little red and white envelope sitting in my mailbox. And when its not there my whole day is ruined no matter how good the day has been. I'm obviously kidding. I do plan on watching ALOT of movies over the summer though. I also want to write my own music but we'll see about that. We'll see about that. I had another piano lesson today. I taught myself "Jingle Bells".

Open Mic Nite is this Thursday! What will I do next? Another poem? Unlikely but we'll see.

We'll see.

Sooo...

I'm pretty proud of myself. If you've been reading my livejournal you probably know about my problems with the class Visual Basasics... Oh wait... I mean I dont write in livejournal its for angsty teens. Anyway as a I was saying, Visual Basic has not been fun for me at al. I havent had a clue as to what was going on all year...untill like..2 weeks ago. About a month ago we were assigned a final project which equals hell in my eyes. We had to make up our own program and I though the worst. Then... I had an epiphany. I can do it. So... I borrow a VB book from Mr. Faitakes and got a pass to the library everyday and teach myself. I'm proud to say that I KIND OF know whats going on.

In addition to being awsome, I'm going to the city this weekend with my parents to visit colleges.

WAIT I GOT KICKED OUT OF THE COMPUTER LAB. BRB.

2004 was FOUR. YEARS. AGO!

I forgot how hot it gets in the summer. Yesterday I went to Relay For Life. I stayed there for a few hours then decided to go home. It was really hot. I rented There Will Be Blood yesterday. To be honest I don't get the hype but I still enjoyed it non the less. Daniel Day Lewis is the man for sure. Uhh, I also got Netflix lulz. I am very essited. The first thing I put on my queue was Veronica Mars season 3.

See ya!

waiting

What's with the school librarians? They're so hostile! I mean, I walk in there and ask in my polite voice if they're handing out laptops today and they look at me as if I just told them that John McCain is the new president of the United States. They shake their heads in disbelief -"No."

Top 7 most annoying songs ever since my brother got a computer:
7. "Stairway To Heaven"- Led Zepplin (and I used to love this song)
6. "Blow Me Away"- Breaking Benjamin
5. "Devotion and Desire"- Bayside
4. "Let's Get It On"- Marvin Gaye
3. "You Have Killed Me"- Morrissey (I used to love this one, too.)
2. "Bodies"- Drowning Pool
1. "Breath"- Breaking Benjamin
Not only are these the most annoying songs my brother listens too, they are also the ONLY songs my brother listens to.
Over.
and over.
and
over.

The one that got away.

Spooky Sin!

Today I went to Kendra's singing recital with Natalie. On the ride to the recital Natalie and I finally re(parent)connected out friendship by blasting some fun musicz. Back to the recital- It was held at this Methodist (or Baptist, only God (pun) knows) church in Shrub Oak. Before it started Kendra's COOL mom was talking to Natalie and I about ~love~ college! Anyway that anti gem Cynthia was brought up by her Mom:

Kendra's COOL mom: That girl who was at my house the other day...
Me: ooooo... Cynthia?
Kendra's COOL mom: yeah she said she's "the shy one". I saw those video's of her dancing on the Taconic (youtube: taconic dance party). I don't care what she sayz they ain't nothing shy about her.
Me: Trufax.

Speaking of spooky things, I made a mix cd for Cinzia.

Tuesday, June 3, 2008

My hair is getting a little too long for my liking. So I'm gonna get it trimmed this weekend. This week has been so0o0o0 slow. I feel like its a Friday...it's Tuesday.

My favorite lyric of the week:

Sorrow drips into your heart through a pinhole
Just like a faucet that leaks and there is comfort in the sound
But while you debate half empty or half full
It slowly rises, your love is going to drown.
-"Marching Bands Of Manhatten"- Death Cab For Cutie

All that's missing is an obnoxious peace sign.
So here I am in the school library. Minding my own buisness and in walks in Kendra K. Dawsey.

Kendra: Oh, I didn't know you had a blogspot!

You obviously don't know much about me.

In addition to minding my own buisness I was also checking my emailz and I got a notifuckation from this really cool internet t-shirt store called Threadless. Threadless is to me what Romeo is to Juliet. I ♥ Threadless. I've been a loyal customer of theirs since late last summer. Almost all of my shirts are Threadless. Anyways, Threadless is having a 10 dollar sale all this week so if you want to fit in, check it out.

Hello!

Today I had school, yuck. Nothing eventful happened. I did take a look at a couple of the art display cases and thought they looked pretty ace. I wish I had art skillz.

After school I went to the car wash with Mayo and Cyndi Stew. It was my first time! The things inside the car wash look like big blue octopi! After the car wash fun I went home and got ready for my first piano lesson. After months of begging asking my parents I finally got lessons. My teachers name is Robin and she's really nice. We started off with a little theory first then got down to some basic playing. She said I had very good coordination and that I was going to learn fast. Move over, Regina Spektor!

That's about it. Oh- then I went to the gym with Cyn.

THE END.
